Exquisite Pressure x Blind Tiger Comedy
What Lab’s Exquisite Pressure is a platform for artists working in performance to try something new—and have community support in celebrating ideas that aren’t yet fully formed, but still worthy of exploration. We’re now accepting submissions for an upcoming ExP, taking place Apr 23-24 2027.
ExP is a performance residency culminating in a public showcase. Each artist, company, or collective is given 30 hours of studio time and a paid stipend to create a work-in-progress piece, to share at a public showing. Each round of ExP is hosted by a different local company or collective, and we’re excited to announce this program is hosted by Blind Tiger Comedy! Action at a Distance will curate the event, and provide artistic support to selected artists, bolstering community and care in a creative process.
Curatorial note from Blind Tiger Comedy
Blind Tiger Comedy is seeking to work with professional artists who have a curiosity for comedy and are at any stage of their career journey, from emerging to veteran artists.
For this Exquisite Pressure, we hope to connect with artists ready to experiment with comedy. This involves either incorporating comedy into unexpected forms where it’s not always the focus (dance, music, theater, mixed media, etc.) or using existing comedy structures (sketch, stand up, and improv) to test the boundaries of what’s possible.
