Perpendicular Play zine is back(!) and now accepting submissions for our next volume on the theme:

This is the House

Nesting rituals.
The people and objects we call our own.
Finding our kin.
Sharing our life with others.

Parts of our identities often lie in the people, places and things around us. Who, what, where feels most like home to you? Where can you be your most vulnerable and who is there when you need support? Relationships are a combination of work and fulfillment. When we are able to choose our family and make our home, what do we find?

Accepting both written and visual works on the theme. We accept all forms, as long as it can be represented on a printed page. Documentation of physical work/sculpture/installation also accepted – just please also include a brief description of the work. Deadline to apply is January 31th, 2023 11:59pm.

Additional Details

  • Multiple submissions are allowed. The form has fields for up to 4 submissions, please contact us if you have more.
  • We also accept work that has appeared elsewhere (so long as it is fine with the previous publisher).
  • We accept work in whatever digital format suits you (pdf, jpg, doc, etc). We will reach out to you if there are file issues.
  • This zine is fueled entirely by love, and as such, we are unable to offer monetary compensation for your work. But, if your work is included in this issue, you will be able to take home at least 3 copies of the printed ephemera.
