Everyone deserves to feel safe on a night out, whether you are going to a large club, a performance at a small arts venue, or anywhere in between. Come and learn how YOU can play a role in safer nights out for all.
What Lab and Good Night Out are here to chat about our roles in preventing and responding to issues of safety, consent, harassment and assault in your communities.
Artists, educators, volunteers, patrons and anyone else connected to What Lab is invited to this FREE event! Come on out and learn some tools and strategies for how to help folks in distress, tips for promoting consent culture, and reducing risk so we can all have safer nights out!
This training workshop is free, but we do ask folks to RSVP in advance.
About Good Night Out
The GNO rationale is for a cultural shift to make Vancouver nightlife a safe environment for everyone. We’re challenging our nighttime economy to create safer nights out for all their customers. We provide specialist training to staff and security, and help to write practical policy for venue to ensure a good night out for all.Stacey Forrester, education coordinator and co-founder of Good Night Out Vancouver will be co-hosting this event.

Accessibility Info
What Lab is located at 1814 Pandora Street. There is no dedicated parking, only street parking. The venue is located on the second floor up one flight of stairs, but there is a ground level accessible entrance through the back of the building. Seating is typically informal, and will include some combination of chairs, floor seating, couches, and cushions. There is one single-occupancy, gender-inclusive washroom. The washroom is not big enough for larger style wheelchairs to completely turn around in while the door is open. We are a trans-inclusive space.
