1. It’s my dérive and I’ll wear what I want to: 5 cities, 6 dresses
Installation
Each dress was made in response to the the lived experience of a city or, in one case, inspired by its imaginary. Uninfluenced by contemporary fashion, they are like costumes for drifting through a particular urban landscape and remaining open to whatever narrative unfolds. The dresses are deliberately not labelled. The cities—Berlin, London, New York, Paris, and Vancouver—know where they belong.
2. Insistence
Fabric assemblage, 220cm X 125cm
The material objects of a classic “clear-out” don’t go quietly. Given a chance, they ignore our associations and reconfigure in odd ways—as if a post-use telos kicks in when we’re done with things.
