Workshop description:

An experiment in bodiliness and movement, we’ll tune into sensation and tactility as ingredients for dancing on our own and together. Gently folding text into our sweat, I want to poke at the messiness of moving and feeling and talking about embodied experience. Just a nice evening of checking in and checking out, training, testing limits, honouring limits, seeing what’s what, and pressing close to impulse.

Ileanna Cheladyn is a Vancouver based dance artist who likes local coffee, seasonal vegetables, sewing her own clothing, and performing, producing, and writing. Her latest research focuses on the interface of body-to-text and text-to-body as it pertains to exploring and understanding bodiliness in social contexts. Seeking a precise blurriness, Ileanna feels pretty committed to using performance and creation to understand and explore bodies as the location, medium, and means of sociality.
