July project 2025

It’s time for the 11th annual July Project! Have a project that’s been been on your mind? The beginning of a piece that’s so fresh you can’t even name it yet? Or a work you started a year ago that stares you down from the corner of the room? Then bring your self, your project, and maybe some snacks to July Project 2025.

The workshop begins with individuals setting projects and weekly goals. Then each week the group meets to share in their progress while looking to others for help, accountability, and encouragement. At the end we celebrate our creations with a public showcase.

Tuesdays evenings, at the What Lab studio. Sign up by June 28th.
Due to the nature of this program, we do not allow participation by zoom.

FAQ’s

No! We endeavour to make July Project a safe place for all to share. We love trying new things and working outside of comfort zones. We celebrate failure. We encourage those of you who are intimidated (but interested) and discourage those of you who can’t be open to trusted listening and responding with your fellow makers. All you need is to show up to the weekly meetings ready to share your work, your skills, your insights, and your support.

Nope. July Project is a place to start or try something new in community – this is not a paid opportunity. If that’s what you need – we get it. We have many programs through WL that do pay artist fees, but July Project is not the program for you.

Also no! This workshop series is not juried – if you fill out the registration form, you’re in!

No yet again! We would sorta reccomend registering only if you can attend at least three of the sessions, but really this is your time. The more you put in, the more you get out. And we know summer can be a hard time to set something consistent.
